Non-Resident Transfer

Fall Semester Deadline: July 1st | Spring Semester Deadline: December 1st

Requirements

  • Be fully admitted to DSU by the deadline
  • Be a US Citizen or have Permanent Resident Status
  • Be a new, first time Transfer student to Dixie State University
  • If you are a Transfer Student that has been admitted to Dixie before, you will need to apply for consideration here.
  • Have an intent to graduate from Dixie State University
  • Complete a minimum of 24 post-high school credits at time of the scholarship deadline
  • Students with less than 24 credits: scholarship decisions will be awarded based upon their high school GPA and ACT or SAT
  • Students with a Bachelors’ degree or excess of 150 credit hours are not eligible for scholarships.

Qualified transfer students who are admitted by the due date will be awarded automatically.

Academic Scholarships

Non-Resident Presidential is the premier scholarship for outstanding academic & degree oriented transfer students, coming from an accredited college or university. Pays Full Base Tuition: 2-years or completion of a Bachelors’ degree (not to exceed 4 semesters).
(Pays: $13,776 per year based on 2017-18 tuition)
Requires 15 credit hours per semester, 3.5 GPA, Cannot be used to attend all online. 
3.80 and above 0 base tuition
Non-Resident University awarded to outstanding academic & degree oriented transfer students, coming from an accredited college or university. Pays non-resident differential and ½ of instate base tuition: 2-years or completion of a Bachelors’ degree (not to exceed 4 semesters).
(Pays: $11,622 per year based on 2017-18 tuition)
Requires 15 credit hours per semester, 3.5 GPA, Cannot be used to attend all online. 
3.50 to 3.79 ½ of the Current Resident Tuition
Non-Resident Full Merit awarded to academically eligible degree oriented transfer students, coming from an accredited college or university. Pays non-resident differential: 2-years or completion of a Bachelors’ degree (not to exceed 4 semesters)
(Pays: $9,468 per year based on 2017-18 tuition)
Requires 15 credit hours per semester, 3.2 GPA, Cannot be used to attend all online. 
3.2 to 3.49 Current Resident Tuition
New Transfer students who do not qualify for one of the above will be automatically considered for the WUE, Dixie Half Merit or Good Neighbor Programs.
If you are not a new transfer student applying to Dixie or if you missed the deadline for the scholarships above, you will need to physically apply for those programs through the links below.
WESTERN UNDERGRADUATE EXCHANGE (W.U.E)
Awarded to academically eligible students, graduating from a high school in the United States in a participating state: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, Wyoming & the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands.
4 years or a Bachelors’ degree (not to exceed 8 semesters)
(Pays: $7,569 per year based on 2018-19 tuition)
Requires 12 credit hours per semester, 2.0 GPA, Cannot be used to attend all online.
*Time on WUE cannot be used towards gaining Utah Residency*
2.75 GPA 150% Current Resident Tuition
GOOD NEIGHBOR TUITION PROGRAM
Awarded to academically eligible entering freshman students, graduating from a high school in Lincoln or Clark County in Nevada, or Mohave or Coconino County in Arizona.
4 years or a Bachelors’ degree (not to exceed 8 semesters)
Requires 6 credit hours per semester, 2.0 GPA, Cannot be used to attend all online.
*Time on Good Neighbor cannot be used towards gaining Utah Residency*
2.5 GPA 150% Current Resident Tuition
NON-RESIDENT DIXIE HALF MERIT
Awarded to academically eligible entering freshman students, graduating from a high school in the United States in the current year.
Half Non-Resident Differential: 4 years or a Bachelors’ degree (not to exceed 8 semesters)
(Pays: $4,899 per year based on 2018-19 tuition)
Requires 12 credit hours per semester, 2.0 GPA, Cannot be used to attend all online.
2.5 GPA Current Resident Tuition & Half of the Non-Resident Differential

Other Non-Resident Transfer Waivers

Dixie State University awards Non-Resident Waivers to transfer students based on transfer GPA from an accredited college or university.

Fall Deadlines: Priority — May 1st       Final — July 15th

Spring Deadlines: Priority — November 1st        Final — December 15th

Transfer Waiver Requirements

  • Be fully admitted to DSU by the posted deadline/s (admissions link)
  • Be a US Citizen or have Permanent Resident Status
  • Be a new, first time Transfer student to Dixie State University
  • Have an intent to graduate from Dixie State University
  • Complete a minimum of 24 post-high school credits at time of the scholarship deadline
  • Students with less than 24 credits: scholarship decisions will be awarded based upon their high school GPA and ACT or SAT
  • Students with a Bachelors’ degree or excess of 150 credit hours are not eligible for scholarships.

Transfer Students who are transferring less than 24 credits will be awarded a Freshman Academic Scholarship based on their High School GPA and ACT or SAT scores. For students who fall under this category, the regular 8 semester scholarship will be reduced by how many semesters you are transferring in to Dixie. (Ex: a student transferring 15 credits will be awarded a freshman scholarship but will only be awarded a 7 semester scholarship as they have already attended a semester elsewhere.)
